How to Deploy an Application from GitHub
Step-by-step: deploy from GitHub using a GitHub App — repository access, branch selection, webhooks, and HTTPS URLs — with Runex as the worked example.

Direct answer
To deploy an application from GitHub on a modern deployment platform, you connect a GitHub App (or similar integration), grant repository access, select a branch, run a build, and publish an HTTPS URL. On Runex that URL looks like https://<deployment-slug>.runex.cloud.
Prerequisites
- Application source in a GitHub repository
- A Runex account (sign up)
- Permission to install a GitHub App on the repo’s account/org
Steps
1. Sign in to Runex
Use runex.cloud/sign-in.
2. Install the GitHub App
Install the Runex GitHub App and grant access only to repositories you intend to deploy. Prefer least privilege.
3. Select repository and branch
Pick the deployable branch (often main).
4. Deploy
Start the deployment. Runex builds the app, creates an isolated environment, and starts the process.
5. Verify HTTPS
Open the platform URL. Attach a custom domain later with a CNAME to cname.runex.cloud if needed.
Automatic redeploys
When webhooks are configured, pushes to the selected branch can trigger redeployment. Runex verifies webhook payloads so triggers come from authenticated GitHub events.
