Why We Built Runex

The product story behind Runex: an easy cloud deployment platform for developers who want GitHub-to-HTTPS without operating infrastructure for every app.

Direct answer

We built Runex so developers can deploy applications from GitHub to a production HTTPS URL without rebuilding server plumbing for every project.

The recurring tax

Shipping software repeatedly collides with the same chores: hosts, reverse proxies, certificates, redeploy scripts, and “it works on my VPS” variance. Those chores are real engineering — but they should not dominate every small team’s week.

What we wanted instead

A path that feels like:

Connect GitHub → select repo → deploy → https://<slug>.runex.cloud

With optional custom domains through cname.runex.cloud, and isolation described honestly — containers and resource controls, not empty security adjectives.

Accuracy as brand strategy

Runex marketing intentionally avoids:

  • Fake ratings and invented benchmarks
  • Compliance logos we have not earned
  • Claiming roadmap network policies as finished controls

If it is not enforced in production, we label it. That discipline is part of building a trustworthy deployment platform.
